I created My Favourite Jazz Studio because for years I tried to sound like the jazz singers I admired. I studied the phrasing, chased the swing, tried to make my voice bend the way theirs did. I practiced the runs, the scat, the way they seemed to float over a standard without ever sounding like they were trying.

And I wondered if maybe jazz just wasn't too far from me.

Then I found the tools that changed everything.

Not a new voice. Not a different genre. Just the right technique, and mindset, applied the right way, learning to stop imitating and start listening to what my own voice actually wanted to do with a phrase.

My interpretation got freer. My confidence followed.
And I realized the jazz singer I thought I'd never become had been in my voice the whole time, I just hadn't been taught how to let her out.

Now, I help singers stop treating "I'm not a jazz voice" like a permanent fact, and start building real, audible proof of what their voice can actually do through My Favourite Jazz Studio!
